Risk Tech / Risk Processing Service

Responsible: Karl Oolu

Mission Statement - Our risk platform needs to master up hundreds of thousands automated decisions every single day. It’s a crucial part of the e- commerce and pay after delivery solutions we are providing. Building, optimizing and maintaining technology behind the business and mission critical risk system is the core of the Risk Tech team. For ensuring sustainable and scalable AFS wide Risk Processing Service platform, we need a brave and bright crew - come and join us!

Cloud DevOps

Responsible: Stanislav Gurba

Mission Statement – Our Cloud DevOps team is building the Cloud platform of AFS services and line of business applications in a sustainable, scalable and federated fashion. We provide infrastructure for the applications in the Cloud, maintain the provided infrastructure and ensure it is to the highest standards in availability and security. Besides, we keep track of all the related costs. We also support development teams in writing their applications in a cloud native way. Last, but not least we are governing the Cloud infrastructure of AFS.

Organizational capabilities: Team of DevOps engineers that works on Cloud infrastructure implementation and operational support in various projects and applications within AFS and maintains a Cloud Competence in the organization.

Experian Risk Management

Responsible: Tatjana Fadejeva

Mission statement: In a close collaboration with Experian we provide a broad range of reliable data that helps customers to make well-founded decisions and evaluate how the person can make a purchase. We build Risk Management solutions to prevent fraud and mitigate financial risks of the customers.

Service Management &
Service Desk

Mission Statement – 24/7 Service Desk is a single point of contact between AFS and its partners, customers and employees. We also monitor and handle alerts that are occurring in the IT services and monitoring tools.

BNPL Tech / Phoenix

Responsible: Kristjan Haavik

Convenient, flexible and easy to use payment solutions developed by our BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) teams service thousands of merchants with easy to use payment methods. The solutions portfolio serves millions of end customers across Europe with its component base and ecosystem. The challenge for anyone joining the team is to design, implement and run highly scalable, robust systems with other BNPL engineers providing solutions for some of the most well-known marketplace providers in the world. “We built this solution that millions of customers are using.”.

Team of many professionals consisting of roles: solution and application architects, software engineers, product owners, agile coaches, DevOps engineers – all of who contribute into our current and future successes!

Central Atlassian Team

Responsible: Andrei Tuch

This team is responsible for all Atlassian Cloud products across AFS. We manage, maintain and develop the central collaboration environment where our teams track their work, store their knowledge, and communicate with their customers. We build custom Jira and Confluence resources exactly to our stakeholders’ specifications, and ensure a high level of satisfaction in this platform-as-a-service – both as a platform, and as a service! We also ensure healthy governance, adherence to best practices, and compliance with the highest security standards that are expected of a vital tool in a highly regulated business.

The team consists of Atlassian administrators, and collaborates closely with stakeholders across technical, business, legal and administrative teams.

IT Security Unit

Responsible: Pavel Balašov

IT Security Unit is placed directly under CTO and operating on AFS level globally, having AFS Tech Center as a strategic partner for delivery in a number of domains.

Central IT Security Unit consists of two teams:

- Program Management & Enterprise Security

- Cyber Defence & Offensive Security

Through so called matrix organisation the Central IT Security Unit is connected to IT Security functions within each of the Business Units of AFS and hence operates the whole AFS IT Security Network. We plug that Network into the larger cyber security ecosystem enabled by EU national CERT's and CERT's of organisations that are close to us.

What keeps us busy: Coordinating large security transformation initiatives; Interconnecting IT security community across AFS; Driving AFS IT security strategy; Driving AFS enterprise security architecture; Driving demand towards Security Operation across AFS; Establishing and operating AFS Cyber Defence Center; Driving implementation of commoditised security controls; Promoting safe cyber culture throughout the organisation; Developing IT production process with other units with purpose to have built-in security

We cooperate with AFS Tech Center in building strong security awareness and passion among Tech Center techies - the software developers and the devops. We love a gamified approach and run cyber security challenges such as cyber range and secure coding tournaments.

To complement cyber security enablement we offer individual pace trainings of different complexity. We want every techie person to grow with us on cyber security skills.

We also run several programs in AFS to facilitate cyber security solutions in a modern and engaging manner.

We envision cyber security to be sustainable and fun practice at AFS.
